Off-boarding a member
The identity for the LMS is associated with the username and email (identifiers)
I. When you “Delete” a member within CONNECT, the member is made “Inactive” (not actually deleted but rather archived). An inactive member will NOT be allowed to log into CONNECT thus, not able to access the link to the LMS
II.” Suspended account”…ensure that the account is suspended within the LMS.
1. Locate the User and Edit Profile
2. Click on “Suspended account”
3. Update profile
Suspending an account vs. Deleting an account: Suspending the account preserves the association with courses and content. This is the recommended action as it provides you with historical records for accreditation / compliance purposes.
*If a member had saved the URL (address to the LMS [org.proteanhub.com/education], and their account was suspended, then they would not be able to log in via the link.
*If the email address for the individual was suspended (by the employer) then the individual has no means to reset the password for the account (no email recipient).
- You could go a step further and manually change the email to username@NONE.COM so that you can visually affirm that there is not a valid email with the profile (but this step is not necessarily necessary)…up to you.
